BadBoys - As One!

It brings me great joy to see how WE, the 440-BADBOYS
are coming together as an OHANA (family).  I believe
we will only get better as MEN and BALLPLAYERS.  I
feel such growth already in my life, and  healing for
the times that I did not HONOR, and SHARE my GIFT of
COACHING.

It is a Soulful Passion of mine to play ball and
coach.  In truth, with honor, for the love of the
game!  The collection of moments on the ball field in
becoming a man.  Learning to embrace every emotion and
cultivate mental fortitude.  The ART of balancing
emotions and centering your WILL.  Making LOVE to the
game!!  YUPP, you read that right. (Smile) Oink! Oink!
Laying out for a ball in the dirt, taking an extra
base head first on a fade away slide! Passion!!!
I hope to inspire you men to be Ambassadors of the
game and share that PASSION!

"Passion will make you crazy, but is there any other
way to live?"   Howard Hughes

You Never Know

You never know when someone
might catch a dream from you.
You never know when a little word
or something that you might do,
May open up a window
of a mind that seeks the light.
The way you teach may not matter at all,
but you never know, it might.
And just in case it could be
that another's life through you
might change for the better
with a broader, brighter view.
It seems it might be worth a try
to do what you know is right.
The way you teach may not matter at all,
but you never know, it might.

BadBoys,

Tomorrow is gameday. Every game we play together is a Big Game. All we need to do is focus on one game at a time and one ininng at at time. We have the strength and the cohesion to play OUR game tomorrow. Miss You All.

Aloha 440 BadBoys,

I wanted to take this time to thank each of you for
this wonderful experience of being your coach. Equally
important, it is honor and gift to be a witness to
your life and refinement of your game.

I take this time to share with you all, my vision as
your coach.

Over learning: Practice until it's perfect

Audible-Ready: Know when to change

Consistency: Respond predictably to performance

Honesty-Based: WALK your TALK

(Ken Blanchard & Don Shula)

Conviction-Driven

Effective Leaders Stand for Something.

What do you stand for?  If we asked your colleagues,
the team members, or clients what your principles are,
would they be able to tell us?  What is the main
message you broadcast to people based on your daily
actions and words?  Remember, if you don't stand for
something, you'll fall for anything.

Think about your own mission and values and share them
with the people around you.  Think about the values of
your team or your organization.  Do you have core
values that guide behavior of the group?
If you don't, start working on them now.  Get the
opinions of people around you.

Have a common vision, and everyone will begin to move
in the same direction.

"The problem with most leaders is that they don't
stand for anything.  And yet, leadership implies
movement towards something-  a sense of direction."

As a coach, I always carry with me a set of core
beliefs, values and convictions that support my vision
of perfection.  These beliefs drive my entire
philosophy of coaching.  They set the context and
boundaries from which my players and coaches can
operate.

You can't be a successful leader if you don't have a
clear idea of what you believe, where you're headed,
and what you're willing to fight for.  These beliefs
were at the heart of everything I did with my coaches
and players on the way to building a winning team.

"Beliefs and convictions provide the boundaries and
direction that people want and need in order to
perform well."
